The feeling of food rubbing against your heart or lung?

Question by spoonsfee: The feeling of food rubbing against your heart or lung?
I am not sure what this can imply but if anyone has any clue to what this may mean.

When I swallow my food I can actually feel almost like a textured feeling rubbing either my heart or most likely my lung, since its more towards the left side of my chest rather than the mid of my chest.

Yeah it’s strange. All answers all welcome, even those who think your funny, could be entertaining.

FYI – im 27 and am 145-150lbs… i dont excercise, use to… no smoking, use to 5+ years ago from about 7yrs of straight smoking… and i tend to consciously try to pick healthy foods when i can…
oh and i know what heart burns are, I do get them here and there

Sounds like a hiatal hernia might cause that. I’d make an appt. with the doctor – they’ll probably want to do a test called an E & G (esophagoscopy and gastroscopy) – painless under local anesthesia in an out – patient setting.

Cooking Light Magazine has some very helpful cookbooks, and even a Mastercook computer version if you can find it anywhere.

What I’ve done to reduce the salt is use sea salt, or seasoned salt.

Sea salt has more taste, so a little bit goes a long way.

For seasoned salt, Food Network used to have Alton Brown’s recipe for the stuff, and it is better than any I’ve picked up.

I am a nurse and this is a very good blood pressure and pulse. Sometimes athletic people will have lower pressures and pulses as the heart muscle is functioning more efficiently. About the light headedness..make sure you eat. Maybe we should test your blood glucose level. I think that we cannot totally diagnose you on here and you will need to see a doctor with your concerns and yes keeping records of b/p and pulse over a period of time is helpful.

Honestly, it depends on the person. But I think you should see your doctor as soon as possible until then check your blood pressure a couple of times each day and record the results so the doctor will know what your baseline is and such. But defiantly see your doctor as soon as possible.

when i was pregnant and had to eliminate salt i used to cook boneless chicken with yoghurt instead of salt, soak the chicken in yogurt for an hour or two, you can add onions, garlic, herbs, curry, or whatever suits you, and bake or grill…

you can have fish, covered with a sauce made out of finelly chopped garlic, herbs and lemon juice, goes well with steamed or boiled rice

pasta with vegetables and add dried oregano, gives it a nice taste

you will get used to it

the best way to reduce sodium in food is increasing the content of potassium in the diet. they both have an antagonist relationship

Go to the doctor!!!!!!!!! It is obvious that your food is not actually touching your heart or lungs, but it is not normal to feel like that. Go see a doctor, Y!A is not the place to get a diagnosis!
