Question by mercedesgal63: High fructose Corn syrup and Partially hydrogenated oils…found in all foods, such as…yogurts, juices?
baked goods like breads, pies…read the labels…is SO bad for you. They increase shelf life and they are artificial therefore not very good for you.
I think it’s time people realized this. No wonder I have started reading labels and started shopping at Whole foods and Trader Joe’s for the past 6 years and feeding my family with healthy foods without all the fat and preservatives that you don’t need.
Please..we need to stop buying these processed foods and put these companies out of business. Consumers need healthy foods. what do you think? are large companies driving the consumers to get diseases like Cancer, diabetes and heart diseases and not telling or educating our consumers about the bad things that are in the foods?
Please think about this before you answer this question..this is important.

1. Fructose is not artificial.. It is producer from corn. sucrose is produced from sugar cane or beets. It is no worse for you than any other sugar based product..

Question by KYbball11: heart issues, what could be wrong?
Hi everyone, so this is a really long story that began with I was 15 and has lasted 2 years now, with me being 17. I am a male 5’7 140 pounds. I was a high school baseball and football player my freshman year very active and fit but had poor eating habits and drank to much caffeine. I first noticed my sypmtoms after practice one night while resting. I became short of breath, my left arm hurt, i was dizzy and my heart felt like it was racing. Being a male and athlete and being stupid i did tell my mother but tried to forget about it and sleep it off. I woke up with no symptoms and was very relieved but for the next few weeks this happened on and off always while at rest. My mother eventually took my to a cardiologist. He said i have mild mitral regurgitation and PVCS, all benign problems he said. Since then I have developed so many symptoms. I go to the ER once a month it seems and nothing is found. I am afraid I have an arrhythmia. I feel so weak and tired that I do not play sports anymore. However about a year ago i changed my diet no caffeine and lots of healthy foods. My doctor doesn’t understand my symptoms because my arrhythmia hides every-time i go and feel comfortable at the hospital, we tried a holter but it was a good day and all it showed was minor PVCS. So I am here today frustrated. Tired I need some support and hopeful guidance or answers. So here are my symptoms that have gotten progressively worse over the last year.
SYMPTOMS-
extreme fatigue
restlessness
short of breath while exercising
palpitiations/with pauses
short burst of racing heart lasting seconds only
lightheaded
hot all the time
weakness in arms and legs
low diastolic blood pressure at times
anxious( i was calm before all of this it has changed my personality)
frustrated
agitated
nervous
pale at times
shiver alot when it is only midly cold like in the 50s and 60s and when its lower i shiver insanely!
sometimes extreme rest seems to make it worse, and I cannot even walk up stairs without palpitating anymore, also I have a tooth abscess being worked on could this contribute? And i do have lots of doc appointments, im just so nervous im needing some help guys!
these symptoms are much worse with stress emiontal or physical. But what scares me most is that even when I am extremely happy and with my girlfriend resting watching tv or doing anything relaxing I still have these Symptoms. Thank u everyone for being here for me!

The First case you state… After practice one night Short of breath, pain in left arm, Dizzy, palpitation
sounds like a myocardial infarction (Heart attack) but if you are still alive it could have been a silent myocardial infarction. But is very unlikely at someone your age. it doesn’t sound good at all
Mitral valve regurgitation is Neither a good thing PVC’s (Premature Ventricular Contractions) are Dropped Beats, This may explain your Palpitations with Pauses, This is what The Pause could be or it could be Sinus pause.
if you had a holter monitor and showed Minor PVC’s And your cardiologist has not Talked to you about getting a catheter ablation done for your PVC’s then they are not a worry. Caffeine is one of many causes of PVC’s.
Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia is a fast heart rate 150bpm+ a minute. Symptoms for this
inclue the following
Shortness of breath
Chest pain
Dizziness
Palpitations
Rapid Breathing
Numbness of various body parts (in your case arms and legs but this could be a different cause)
Normal Blood Pressure 100-60 to 120/80 anything lower is hypotension anything higher is hypertension.
The anxiety, agitation and nervousness Is most likely Anxiety attacks (Best talk to your GP about seeing someone about Your anxiety which Most likely connected to you been worried about your health issues.
Shivers May be due to Temperature. Keep warm in cold temperature or keep cool in Hot Temperature.
Your Fatigue is Most likely due to your Anxiety Because Extreme Mental/Physical Exertion causes Fatigue.
Talk to your GP about Seeing an Electrophysiologist (someone who specializes in arrhythmia’s)
And ask for a Cholesterol/Lipid Blood Test
Good Luck with everything hope i have helped…

Question by pebble: How do I lower my heart rate?
I’m 5’1.5″, weight fluctuates between 95-100 I guess right now. I’m 24, female. Exercise pretty much every day, walking for two hours or so.
I have trouble eating “enough” at the moment, because of illness, but it’s plenty enough for me to feel satisfied.
I have severe IBS-D, Fibromyalgia, Interstitial Cystitis, and either Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Sleep Apnea, I’m having a sleep study soon.
With IBS and IC, it’s hard for me to stay hydrated so they thought that could be cause. Or something in exercise, though I do walk for awhile most days (when I’m not very sick).
At the doctor the past few weeks, my resting heart rate was finally down under 100. So we thought it was getting better! But this past weekend had a fever for two days, and couldn’t do anything but curl up in bed. Couldn’t exercise, but also couldn’t eat or drink much at all either. This week, heart rate was high yet again.
Diet wise, the only caffeine I have is the occasional green tea, and Excedrin sometimes. I don’t smoke or drink, I only eat what I consider to be healthy foods…fruits/vegetables/nuts based diet. Don’t add salt to anything either.
But I need my heart rate to come back down again, and I have no idea if it’s a matter of exercise (and that 2 days without it threw things off)-easy to fix, dehydration (harder to fix), eating too little (harder to fix), problem in WHAT I eat? (could be fixed, if I know what it is), a medicine I’m on (though many have been cut out by my doctor already), stress of illness (illnesses are hard to treat, but maybe stress relief can help?), illnesses themselves, slightly underweight, combination of these?
I need my heart rate lower again! Resting it can go up to like 120s-140s. My blood pressure is normally just fine though.
Not sure how to fix this issue. Any thoughts?

you need to find a cause
when i had a problem with heart rate–it turns out i had mono
and btw–if you do have sleep apnea–you might not have fms..
fms is highly overdiagnosed and sleep apnea mimics it

check for diabetes. Watch the sugar.
you might be low on many things..iron beginning which can cause fast heart rate,,and low salt,or potassium see your doctor asap
something called the valsava manoeuvre. hold you nose and close your mouth and blow as if you were trying to blow your nose really hard. Do that for a few seconds and it should lower. if it fails the first day time a couple more times and that should do the trick
Premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) are extra, abnormal heartbeats that begin in one of your heart’s two lower pumping chambers /ventricles. These extra beats disrupt your regular heart rhythm, sometimes causing you to feel a flip-flop or skipped beat in your chest. Premature ventricular contractions are very common, they occur in most people at some point.
If you have occasional premature ventricular contractions, but you’re an otherwise healthy person, there’s generally no reason for concern, and no treatment is needed. If you have frequent premature ventricular contractions or underlying heart disease, you may need treatment to help you feel better and treat underlying heart problems.
Take care always……….
This is an astute observation and question, the way i see it is that they are in business for profit , not to provide you with life sustenance per se. There are however some excellent provisioners out there . Read the labels . Good home cooking is the way to go in my humble opinion. What is Latin for (Buyer beware)? And is ignorance true bliss? Keep up the good work .
